All-Star Kids Tutoring

Inspire a child… give the gift of reading.

The All-Star Kids Tutoring program is designed to break the cycle of illiteracy.   Through a network of volunteers children entering second and third grade are provided one-on-one tutoring for 90 minutes each week.  Volunteers are matched to a single child and will work with that child throughout the school year.  Volunteers come from all walks of life and are trained by CISAZ
to deliver the curriculum based program.

In a recent study done by the Virginia Piper Trust,  students in All-Star Kids show improvements in AIMS.  In addition to seeing a rise in test scores, school administrators also see marked changes in student motivation and behavior.

Volunteering with All-Star Kids Tutoring is perhaps one of the most rewarding experiences.

How It Works

CISAZ partners with schools, churches, libraries, and other community organizations to establish literacy tutoring sites. CISAZ recruits community volunteers, preparing and training them to be effective literacy tutors and mentors.
