Empowering Students to Stay in School and Achieve in Life.

                                                                                                                                            College/Career Readiness

College and Career Readiness is a program designed to assist youth 16 to 21 in workforce readiness. Through workshops, youth are instructed on things like to prepare themselves for their first work experience as well and to prepare themselves for life after high and how to get where they want to go.

The workshops look at what an individual students passion is and if they have not identified one, that this is the first, best place to look to launch their career path. Since many high school youth have yet to have had a job, the program helps them with tools and tips on getting that first job and making it one of the first steps in their journey to a life long career.

The workshops look at first job search basics like completing an application correctly, writing a resume and cover letter, developing their own network, the elevator speech (also known as “what’s so great about me”) and effective interviewing. Simple assessments are done to help limit some of the career options as well as other areas about themselves they should consider before finding any employment or career.
