Jobs for Valley Youth was started in 1993 by Greater Phoenix Leadership in partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way. The goal of the program is to generate private sector, unsubsidized jobs for youth ages 16-21 throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Jobs for Valley Youth is designed to complement existing youth employment efforts in both the public and private sectors. In January of 2002, the Jobs for Valley Youth program joined Communities In Schools of Arizona.

Youth

Job Skills Workshops prepare young adults for the world of work and assist students in identifying strengths, preparing applications and resumes, dressing for success, work ethics, and more. At the end of the workshop, the instructor also assists each student in determining businesses to contact for applications.
